Google's New Ad
Short post is better then no post, which is usual for me. But this topic deserves a shout out. I don't watch commercials much. The loveliness of DVR's. :-) But I did see a Google Ad on TV recently, and it was about their services. Well...
The ad had a definite pro-gay message. It was about Dan Savage and ItGetsBetter.org, and how Google's services were used in relation to his message & organization that says it okay being gay, that it is tough, and it gets better.
So I applaud Google for doing it. I see the shout-y world that is the blog-o-sphere is in an uproar. I guess I'm adding my voice to the din, but this is really cool. Even if Google is a new evil empire, they are getting a message out that really needs to be out there. Equally interesting, Google is making a statement more then just about itself. And to me, that makes otherwise annoying commercial interesting.
So I'll say it again, kudos to Google for thinking more about the world then themselves.
